XOX DATA ROAMING FAQ

  1. What are the rates for XOX MOBILE data roaming?
    We have the rate of RM38 for 500MB per day.
  2. Which are the participating countries and networks in XOX Data Roaming 500MB package?

  3. Who is eligible to use our data roaming?
    All ONEXOX Prepaid and BLACK subscribers with an Active status account are eligible.
  4. How do I subscribe to data roaming?

    ONEXOX Prepaid users:

    STEP 1: Ensure you have sufficient credit in your ONEXOX prepaid account.
    STEP 2: Go to phone settings, and find Access Point Name (APN), and set it to ‘XOX’.
    STEP 3: Switch on data roaming in phone settings.
    STEP 4: Connect to roaming country network operator.
    STEP 5: Subscribe to XOX Data Roaming package via:

    a) Easy Menu
    – Dial *150*3# to subscribe

    b) SMS
    – Send DATA ROAM to 22111 or 23388 (Roaming SMS charges apply)

    BLACK users:

    STEP 1: Ensure you have additional credit limit in your BLACK account.
    STEP 2: Go to phone settings, and find Access Point Name (APN), and set it to ‘XOX’.
    STEP 3: Switch on data roaming in phone settings.
    STEP 4: Connect to roaming country network operator.

  5. How do I know if my roaming is activated?
    You will receive an SMS notification once you arrive at your destination country.

    For ONEXOX Prepaid users, you need to:

    1. Connect to

    Upon successful subscription, you will receive a confirmation SMS. For example:


    RM0.00 Your data roaming has been successfully activated. To check data roaming balance or local credit balance, just go to our Easy Menu and dial *150#. T&C apply
  6. What is the subscription period that my data roaming is active once I’ve activated it?
    Data activated each day starting from 12:00AM Malaysian time onwards ends at 11:59PM Malaysian time. Even if you activate it at 1:00PM Malaysian time, the data subscription will still end at 11:59PM Malaysian time. Regardless of the time you activate the data roaming, it will still end at 11:59PM Malaysian time on the day itself.
  7. What happens if I use up 100% of my data roaming?
    Once you have used 100% of your data, you will not be able to use the data, but you may subscribe for 500MB at RM38 on same day by dialling *150# for our Easy Menu or sending DATA ROAM to 22111 or 23388 (Charges of RM2.50/SMS apply). It is.
  8. What will happen if I don’t finish using up my roaming data on the day?
    Your unused data will be forfeited.
  9. How do I check my credit and data roaming balance?
    You may check balance using our Easy Menu *150#

    You may send SMS with the following codes (Charges of RM2.50/SMS apply):

  10. Is the data roaming plan on an auto renewal basis?
    Yes, but the auto renewal function is available for BLACK subscribers only. Your data roaming will auto renew each day if you leave your data roaming in your phone settings on.

    For ONEXOX Prepaid users, you have to manually renew their subscription via Easy Menu or SMS.

  11. For BLACK, what if I don’t want my data roaming to auto renew?
    You need to turn off data roaming in your phone settings by 11.59PM to avoid auto renewal on the next day.
  12. How do I make payment for my data roaming?

    ONEXOX Prepaid

    Ensure you have enough credit in your account before you depart from Malaysia as the bill payment and top-ups can be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR). The charges will be deducted once you have successfully activated the data roaming plan.
    But if you need additional credit while you’re overseas, you may top-up with your online banking or credit card in RM/MYR.

    BLACK

    You need to ensure you have additional credit limit in your BLACK account before you depart from Malaysia as the bill payment can be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR). It will be charged to your bill once you have successfully activated the data roaming plan.

    But if you need additional credit limit while you’re overseas, you may make payment and clear any outstanding payment with your online banking or credit card in RM/MYR.

  13. Can I make any top-up or payment with other currencies besides Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR)?
    No, top-up and payments for your account can only be made in Ringgit Malaysia (RM/MYR), so do ensure you have enough credit in your account before leaving Malaysia.
    But if you need additional credit while you’re overseas, you may top-up or make payment with your online banking or credit card in RM/MYR.
  14. Are there any charges when I send the command codes in Table 1 to 22111 and 23388?
    Yes, each SMS sent from overseas is RM2.50. Your account will be charged accordingly for every SMS sent.
  15. Are there charges if I use *150# overseas?
    No, there isn’t, so you may use *150# to subscribe data roaming and check your balance without additional charges.
  16. Can I buy Happy Hour to have additional data overseas?
    No, you can’t use the data bought from Happy Hour to use overseas. However, you can still buy Happy Hour while you’re overseas and use it when you’re back in Malaysia.
  17. What if I don’t connect to the preferred roaming operator in the country I’m in?
    You will be charged however you will not be able to enjoy our data roaming service. Therefore, do check on the roaming country network operator before going abroad.
  18. Do I need to turn off my data roaming when I come back to Malaysia?
    Yes, you need to turn off the roaming setting on your mobile phone to avoid any additional charges being billed to your account.
  19. What happens if I use up my data roaming quota before the subscription period ends?
    You can always re-subscribe to 500MB for RM38 on same day.
  20. How do I disable auto activation for XOX Data Roaming?
    To disable auto activation (for BLACK users only), just call up our customer care line.

    From BLACK numbers in Malaysia: 12273

    From overseas: 03-78824952.

    Alternately, you can Disabling Auto Activation via SMS by send OFFROAM to 22111 or 23388 (Roaming SMS charges apply)

    You need to ensure you have turned off data roaming in your phone setting by 11.59PM to stop auto renew data roaming subscription for the next day.
